Peas twice a year?! I am seriously planting this weekend. And no more peas in summer. Thanks for the tip, Jo!

Country Mouse thinks he knows everything. So what if he's right most of the time? Sunflower killer.

Yes, footnotes are cool. Lachlan, It's a plugin. I can't remember the name but I am sure you can find it if you Google "footnotes Wordpress." Get 'em; they make you feel all literary 'n shit.

You can get two crops of peas. One in early spring, the other in the fall. Just not in the summer, because they hate the heat.

I'll testify to the quality of the bay leaves.... have bunches of them, dried now, and use them in soup. Good job, mice people.

Right. So now I’m going to set the record straight.

I did read the bean package. It said bush beans. I don’t know where this trellis-climbing fetish got started, but it wasn’t me. And we did get beans, but not very tasty beans because we left them on the vine too long. They were mealy, stringy, old-fart beans. Really.

The peas were planted too late, not too early. We need to plant our peas early in April, not late in May.

Eggplant fruit grow above ground, on the bush. Clearly, we’ll be having remedial eggplant lessons this winter.

I did stake that sunflower right in the heart. The fucker was evil undead. Which is kind of funny when you think about it – a vampire sunflower?! Anyway, it’s dead now.
